DIRECTIONS
The Park is in the northeastern part of the state. The Fredericksburg Visitor Center is on Highway US 1 at the foot of Marye's Heights. The Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center is ten miles west of Fredericksburg on Highway VA 3.

Open year round. Peak visitor month is August. Climate: Winter, 32 to 52 degrees F; Summer, 85 to 92 degrees F.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Portions of four major Civil War Battlefields--Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania Court House; as well as, Chatham Manor, Salem Church, and the historic building in which Stonewall Jackson died, comprise the Park. Fredericksburg National Cemetery--15,333 interments, 12,746 unidentified--is near the Park; grave space is not available.
Hiking trails lead the visitor along historic traces and to historic sites. Museums, interpretive exhibits, and living history demonstrations (during Summer) are available. Camping is available in Prince William Forest Park, twenty miles north on I-95. Food, supplies, and overnight accommodations are available in Fredericksburg.
